Chimney Inspection
One of the most important things you will do for your family is to get your chimney inspected annually by American Chimney & Masonry. Every one of our chimney inspections are done by technicians who carry the CSIA Certified Chimney Sweep credential. This important service offered by American Chimney can come in many forms and you should be aware that your inspection will be tailored to your type of chimney and situation (age, wear, etc). American Chimney and Masonry follows the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommended inspection procedures 100% of the time.
Chimney Cleaning
All of American Chimney technicians are certified by the Chimney Safety Institute of America and by the Oregon Chimney Sweep Association. This is to assure that our chimney service is the most highly qualified service available in the chimney cleaning industry. We only use equipment that has been specifically designed for the type of chimney we are servicing whether it be a large masonry fireplace, furnace flue or metal factory built chimney system.
Chimney Caps and Guards
Chimney caps are extremely important to protect your home from water damage coming down your chimney as well as any material or birds and nests that can intrude with its overall performance. If a standard chimney cap does not fit your chimney or isn’t appropriate, American Chimney has the expertise to recommend and install the right chimney cap for any chimney or vent. Special caps (for large or unusual sizes), copper caps, wind directional and draft inducing caps and UL Listed caps for manufactured fireplaces are all available from our trained staff. You might also consider installing damper caps that help prevent heat loss and will reduce your heating bills.
Chimney Lining
Chimneys can be damaged by a number of things over time that include settling to weather such as hurricanes and lightning. The two most common things that cause damage is from fire and water. There are times that chimney relining is often the most practical and affordable way to repair a deteriorated or damaged chimney. In addition to chimney damage, there are times in older homes where the chimneys may be unlined or their liners may be deteriorated to the point where relining is warranted.
